Regions

Create and manage regions in the Admin Panel: assign members, link wells, and set key contacts within a division on SME and Enterprise plans.

Regions are the operational level where wells, users, and day-to-day work are scoped. Create and manage regions from Admin Panel > Regions within your division or organization scope.

Regions are part of the division hierarchy on SME and Enterprise plans. Each region belongs to one division.

What a region controls

Regions define the data boundary for most users:

  • Wells and simulations are assigned to a region
  • Region Admin and Key User accounts see data only in their assigned region(s)
  • Member lists and contacts filter by regional assignment

HQ and division administrators can see all regions in their scope.

Create a region

  1. Go to Admin Panel > Regions
  2. Click New Region
  3. Enter the Region Name and select the parent Division
  4. Add optional location or contact details
  5. Click Save

Assign users to the new region from Users.

View region details

  1. Open Admin Panel > Regions
  2. Click a region row

The detail panel shows region identity, division membership, assigned users, key contacts, and wells in the region.

Assign members

Users must belong to a region (or inherit scope through an admin role) to see regional wells and simulations.

  1. Open Admin Panel > Users
  2. Select the user
  3. Set Platform Role and Region (or multiple regions where supported)
  4. Save the record

Alternatively, add members from the region detail panel when that action is available.

When onboarding a team, create the region first, then invite users with Key User or Region Admin roles pre-assigned to that region.

Assign a Region Admin

  1. Open the user in Users
  2. Set Platform Role to Region Admin
  3. Assign the target Region
  4. Save

Region Admin users can invite and manage users within their assigned region(s).

Key contacts

Add Key Personnel on the region record for local operational contacts. These may surface in the Contacts directory alongside organization-wide listings.

Wells in a region

Wells inherit regional scope when created or when an administrator assigns them. From the region detail panel, review which wells belong to the region. Move or reassign wells from Wells management when your role allows it.

Activate or deactivate a region

  1. Open the region in Regions
  2. Set Status to Inactive (or click Deactivate)
  3. Confirm when prompted

Inactive regions block new assignments. Existing wells and history remain unless you move them first.

Users assigned only to a deactivated region may lose access to wells until they are reassigned.
