Creating Wells

Create a new well in PetroBench. Enter required and location details, assign a group, and optionally attach directional survey files during creation.

For finding, filtering, and organizing existing wells, see Wells. This page covers creating and deleting a well.

  1. Go to Wells
  2. Click New Well
  3. Fill in the fields (only the well name is required)

When a file is attached:

  • A unit system selector sets the units the file's values are read in.
  • Use the remove control to drop a file before creating the well.

See Directional Surveys for survey formats and 3D visualization.

To create many wells at once from a spreadsheet, use Importing Wells instead.

Deleting a well permanently removes all associated data including simulations, production data, and surveys. This cannot be undone.

  1. Click More on the well row (or open Well Details)
  2. Select Delete Well
  3. Type the well name to confirm
  4. Click Delete Permanently
