Can't Sign In with MFA
Recover access when you can't complete multi-factor authentication in PetroBench: code not working, lost authenticator device, or lost recovery codes.
If your account has multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled, you enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app after your password. If you can't complete that step, here's how to get back in.
Code isn't accepted
- Use the current code: they rotate every 30 seconds, so enter a fresh one.
- Enter the digits with no spaces.
- Set your phone's clock to update automatically. TOTP codes fail if the device clock drifts from real time.
Lost your authenticator device
Sign in with a recovery code instead:
- On the MFA verification screen, click Use a recovery code.
- Enter one of the recovery codes you saved when you set up MFA.
- Recovery codes are single-use. After signing in, set up MFA again on your new device and generate fresh codes from Settings > Security. See Multi-Factor Authentication.
Lost your recovery codes too
If you have no authenticator app and no recovery codes, only support can restore access:
- Email support@petrobench.com from your account's email address.
- We'll verify your identity and reset MFA on your account so you can set it up again.
For security, PetroBench support can't read your codes or bypass MFA without verifying your identity. Store recovery codes somewhere safe, like a password manager.
