Browser Issues
Fix browser display issues in PetroBench. Resolve charts not loading, buttons not responding, and rendering problems across supported browsers.
Something looks broken, won't load, or doesn't respond when you click it.
Supported Browsers

When in doubt, use Chrome. Most issues disappear when switching to Chrome.
Quick Fixes
Try these in order. Most issues are solved by one of these:
1. Hard Refresh
Clears cached files for the current page:
- Windows/Linux:
Ctrl + Shift + R - Mac:
Cmd + Shift + R
2. Clear Browser Cache
Clears all cached PetroBench data:
Chrome:
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Delete(orCmd + Shift + Deleteon Mac) - Set time range to "All time"
- Check "Cached images and files"
- Click Clear data
- Go back to PetroBench and refresh
Firefox:
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Delete - Select "Cache"
- Click Clear Now
Edge:
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + Delete - Check "Cached images and files"
- Click Clear now
3. Try Incognito/Private Mode
This tests whether the issue is caused by cached data or browser extensions:
- Chrome:
Ctrl + Shift + N(orCmd + Shift + N) - Firefox:
Ctrl + Shift + P - Edge:
Ctrl + Shift + N
If it works in incognito, the problem is likely:
- A browser extension interfering
- Corrupted cache data
4. Disable Browser Extensions
Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes break web apps:
- Open your browser's extension manager
- Disable all extensions
- Refresh PetroBench
- If it works, re-enable extensions one at a time to find the culprit
Common problem extensions:
- Ad blockers (uBlock, AdBlock)
- Privacy tools (Privacy Badger, Ghostery)
- VPN extensions
- Developer tools
Page Won't Load / Stuck Loading
You see a spinner that never stops, or a blank page.
Try:
- Check your internet connection
- Try a different page in PetroBench. Is it just this page?
- Check status.petrobench.com for outages
- Clear cache and refresh
- Try a different browser
Text or Layout Looks Wrong
Fonts are weird, things are overlapping, or the layout is broken.
Try:
- Reset your browser zoom to 100% (
Ctrl/Cmd + 0) - Try a different screen resolution
- Update your browser to the latest version
- Clear cache and refresh
Update Your Browser
Old browsers can cause problems. To update:
Chrome: Menu (⋮) > Help > About Google Chrome
Firefox: Menu (☰) > Help > About Firefox
Edge: Menu (⋯) > Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge
System Requirements
For best performance:
- RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended
- Screen: 1280x720 minimum resolution
- Internet: Stable broadband connection
- Browser: Latest version of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox
Still Broken
If none of the above helps:
- Note exactly what's broken (which page, which feature)
- Take a screenshot
- Check the browser console for errors (F12 > Console)
- Email support@petrobench.com with:
- Browser name and version
- Operating system
- Screenshot of the issue
- Console errors (if any)
- Steps to reproduce the problem
