Prerequisites

Before creating a simulation, you need:
  • A Well with basic depth data
  • Directional Survey (recommended for deviated wells)

Create a Simulation

  1. Navigate to Wells and select your well
  2. Click the RodSim tab
  3. Click New Simulation
  4. Review the auto-generated name or add a description
  5. Click Create Simulation

If your well has an existing “installed” simulation, the new simulation copies its equipment configuration as a starting point.

Simulation Naming

PetroBench auto-generates names in this format: 
Design #XXX.YY [Well Name] [Date/Time]
  • XXX: Sequential design number
  • YY: Iteration (increments when duplicating)

After creation, configure your simulation:
  1. Configure simulation settings - Set targets, equipment, and fluid properties
  2. Run the simulation - Execute and view results
Use Duplicate Simulation to create variations of a working design for comparison testing.
