File Won’t Upload
“Invalid file format” error:
- Check that the file has a supported extension
- Make sure the extension wasn’t changed accidentally (e.g.,
.rsdx.txt)
- Try re-exporting from RodStar or SRod
“Failed to parse file” error:
- File may be corrupted or from an unsupported version
- Open it in the original software to verify it’s valid
- Try re-exporting the file
”Well Already Exists” Error
A well with the same API number already exists.
Options:
- Delete the existing well if you want to replace it
- Change the API number in the source file before importing
Deleting a well removes all its simulations permanently.
Data Missing After Import
Directional survey missing:
Import it separately via Directional Surveys > Import
Rod string or pumping unit not recognized:
The equipment might not exist in PetroBench’s library. You may need to create custom equipment under Equipment.
Fluid properties missing:
These sometimes don’t transfer — manually enter them in Simulation Preferences.
