File Won’t Upload
“Invalid file format” error:
- Make sure the file has a supported extension
- Try re-saving from your survey software as CSV
“Failed to parse” error:
- Check for blank rows at the top of the file
- Look for special characters in headers
- Ensure numeric columns don’t have text mixed in
Data Looks Wrong After Import
Depths are off:
- Confirm the file uses the same depth units (feet vs meters) as your well
- Check that you selected the correct columns during import mapping
Survey is upside down:
- Some exports list deepest point first — PetroBench expects shallowest first
- Sort your file by MD ascending before importing
Missing data points:
- Rows with blank MD, inclination, or azimuth are skipped
Required Columns
| Required | Optional |
|---|
| Measured Depth (MD) | True Vertical Depth (TVD) |
| Inclination | North/South |
| Azimuth | East/West |
If your survey doesn’t extend to pump depth, PetroBench extrapolates — which may not match your actual wellbore geometry.
