When in doubt, use Chrome. Most issues disappear when switching to Chrome.

Quick Fixes

Try these in order — most issues are solved by one of these:

1. Hard Refresh

Clears cached files for the current page:
  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl + Shift + R
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + R

2. Clear Browser Cache

Clears all cached PetroBench data: Chrome:
  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (or Cmd + Shift + Delete on Mac)
  2. Set time range to “All time”
  3. Check “Cached images and files”
  4. Click Clear data
  5. Go back to PetroBench and refresh
Firefox:
  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
  2. Select “Cache”
  3. Click Clear Now
Edge:
  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete
  2. Check “Cached images and files”
  3. Click Clear now

3. Try Incognito/Private Mode

This tests whether the issue is caused by cached data or browser extensions:
  • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N (or Cmd + Shift + N)
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
If it works in incognito, the problem is likely:
  • A browser extension interfering
  • Corrupted cache data

4. Disable Browser Extensions

Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes break web apps:
  1. Open your browser’s extension manager
  2. Disable all extensions
  3. Refresh PetroBench
  4. If it works, re-enable extensions one at a time to find the culprit
Common problem extensions:
  • Ad blockers (uBlock, AdBlock)
  • Privacy tools (Privacy Badger, Ghostery)
  • VPN extensions
  • Developer tools

Page Won’t Load / Stuck Loading

You see a spinner that never stops, or a blank page. Try:
  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try a different page in PetroBench — is it just this page?
  3. Check status.petrobench.com for outages
  4. Clear cache and refresh
  5. Try a different browser

Text or Layout Looks Wrong

Fonts are weird, things are overlapping, or the layout is broken. Try:
  1. Reset your browser zoom to 100% (Ctrl/Cmd + 0)
  2. Try a different screen resolution
  3. Update your browser to the latest version
  4. Clear cache and refresh

Update Your Browser

Old browsers can cause problems. To update: Chrome: Menu (⋮) > Help > About Google Chrome Firefox: Menu (☰) > Help > About Firefox Edge: Menu (⋯) > Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge

System Requirements

For best performance:
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum, 8 GB recommended
  • Screen: 1280x720 minimum resolution
  • Internet: Stable broadband connection
  • Browser: Latest version of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox

Still Broken

If none of the above helps:
  1. Note exactly what’s broken (which page, which feature)
  2. Take a screenshot
  3. Check the browser console for errors (F12 > Console)
  4. Email [email protected] with:
    • Browser name and version
    • Operating system
    • Screenshot of the issue
    • Console errors (if any)
    • Steps to reproduce the problem
