Simulation Preferences

Parameter One

The user can choose between using target stroke rate, which allows the user to define the pumping unit stroke rate, and desired production which calculates the stroke rate needed to achieve the target production defined by the user.

If the user selects “Stroke Rate” they are required to enter a target stroke rate in the field to the right of “Parameter One”. If the user selects “Desired Production” thy are required to enter “Target Production” in the field to the right.

Parameter Two

The user can choose between entering a target pump intake pressure or having the pump intake pressure calculated based on the fluid level. If the user selected target production for parameter one, they can have the pump intake pressure calculated from IPR data.

If the user selects “Pump Intake Pressure” they are required to enter “Target Pump Intake Pressure” in the field to the right. If they select “Fluid Level” they are required to enter “Target Fluid Above Pump” in the field to the right. If they select “Use IPR Data”, and entry is not required, but they will need to fill out the “IPR Data” if they haven’t already in the “IPR Data” Tab

Full Pump?

The user can simulate full pump conditions if they select yes, or simulate a partially filled pump if they select no. If they select No, then a “Pump Condition” selection will appear below the “Full Pump” field where they can select “Gas Interference” or “Fluid Pound”.

Pump Fill

If the user selects “No” for “Full Pump” then the pump fill field becomes editable and they can enter the desired pump fill as a percentage of full.

Damping Factor (UP/DWN)

Damping factors influence the magnitude of viscous friction, which is the resisting force the fluid applies on the rodstring. Vales are populated with a default value of 0.1 for both, but the user can edit. Typically, 0.1 is used and very few users will change these values

Target Fluid Level and Fluid Gradient

Both are calculated variables for information only and are not editable.
